Nothing to show this week...

Well I have been working on things this week, but nothing is finished and I don't really have "in progress" photos... The only thing I can show is the lapghan that I am assembling for the Warm Up America group through Pat Catan's... I picked up "squares" to assemble for them to distribute to other foundations that help keep those in need warm... These foundations include helping Nursing Homes and Women's Shelters... One of the sets of squares I grabbed were these bright pink granny squares:

There were only 10 of them and making a 3x3 was not nearly big enough... so I made 14 more squares using a mint color that coordinates well enough with the pink... I am joining them together using the flat-braid method and a cream yarn that Pat Catan's gave me... Here are the completed mint squares:

I have been working on a "costume" hook (like a pirate's) and more of the squares for the afghans, but again nothing is done yet...
What a crazy week... Hopefully will have more for you next week!

That time again...

Well here is more of what I have done this week... Another Hat, I donated the 2 spider hats and the pixie hat to Catholic Charities:

Then I finished this DS Case (it has 6 game pockets and 3 memory card pockets on the inside):

And as promised the 3 afghans that I have been working on... I am making "pillowghans" (where the afghan folds into a pocket to become a pillow, like a quillo)... I have 3 squares for each done, I will be making a total of 16 squares (a 3x5 and a square for the pocket) I included muted "squares" to represent the way it will be organized...
Here is the first which will be done in burnt orange and "linen"... I will join with a brown, but haven't chose which one yet...

The next will be made primarily the same as what you see, the variegated center with an orange ring and then the majority of the square in the same variegated... It will be joined with a yellow (hence the yellow background)

Finally This one is the most "involved"... I first made the center square with the celtic knots to incorporate ALL of the colors that will be used... The rest of the squares will be a solid color of the 4 colors used in the first one... This one will be joined in a dusty gold color, similar to the background...

ok, going to try to blog once a week...

Wish me luck... here are the items that I have completed to date: One of the first things I finished this year was mine and Greg's scrapghan:

I made myself another Hook Case... If you are looking for the pattern I got it on Ravelry (here), but I altered it quite a bit so here is my project page with a few notes... I love this one, and have many compliments on it:

I made a total of 5 sets of Fingerless Gloves (Brie commissioned me to make 4, and I wanted a pair) So here is one of the commissioned and then my pair:
and
Then I tested a pattern for this hat (uber cute, too bad I have a boy not a girl hehe)

I tried my hand in Tapestry crochet to make this square, that I sent to a friend to add to her blanket (It's a prayer square- I pray while crocheting, she assembles with other squares to be able to wrap herself in love and prayers)

The next 2 squares are also prayer squares sent to Gigi and Lisa:
and
Then I tested for a Tapestry style hat (I think I want to try it again w/ different colors that will show better) These will go to my local Catholic Charities:

Next I made 4 more prayer squares to send to Cindy so she can assemble for her sick nephew:

Finally I finished a fringe blanket photo prop for Greg to use in his photography:

This has all been done this year... I have also been working on some more blankets which I will get a collage of the squares made so far and will post them during next weeks post... And once I start posting again regularly, I won't have as many to post each week hehe

Been a while..

I know it has been a while since I have posted anything so here is a quick rundown of some things that I have finished...
A Purse to carry my bible study/devotional material in (first picture is the front, second is the back)

Several 12" squares to link together to make an afghan (not all that I have done, just all the pictures that I have, some aren't the greatest)

and 6" squares for the same afghan

Rose Choker

Ok so here is my first piece of jewelry, and it is also for sale ($5)
It is an adjustable choker with 4 buttons on the back...

This shows it on a person

Sorry the pictures aren't better going to have Greg take some with his mad skills hehe... It is a moss green necklace with a red rose flower and moss green leaves... The buttons are black and it has a loop to go over the button...

For a prayer afghan

A friend is in a hard time right now, so a few of us are sending prayer squares for her to join to make a prayer afghan... here are my 3 squares (two 6" and one 12")

a tote bag...

So here is my first tote bag... it measures approximately 12" square... Other than the colors, I love it... but we all know that I am not a huge fan of pinks... hehe... it is a soft blue and a pinkish peach...

The inside with the pocket

what do you think? Will sell this one for $18, or will take "orders" if you would prefer different colors...
