I am a stay at home mama... Sometimes I have a lot to say and this seems like the perfect place to get it all out, other times I just want to show off my crochet work and well why not do that here also? So I'll write what I feel like writing and display what I want to show off and no more...
O's tower of play-doh
O stacked his play-doh, but what u didn't see was he put all the big ones except 1 on bottom, put a small one next, then when he grabbed the big one instantly knew he needed 2 switch them! He was telling me I made that when I took pic but of course as soon as pic was taken he knocked them down with typical boy fashion!
A few more crochet projects...
Ok here are a few more crochet projects
Brie asked me to make something for her co-worker's grand-daughter... This is a pattern that I am trying to refine...

These are a pair of slippers I made for a swap...

This is a dress that I made for Addison's 1st birthday and the headband (named Addison)

This washcloth is an illusion... when you look at it straight on it just looks like stripes, but look at an angle and you see the design, I gave this to my sister who has always loved Mickey!

I wanted to make a basket using these 2 yarns together, but after I got this far I realized that I didn't have enough light purple, so I turned it into a potholder for Brie...

Last is a hat that I tested the pattern for someone, I made 2 since I didn't like the length of the first one (the brown one)...

The Larry-boy theme song came on at the end of the Veggie Tales video, so he went and got his guitar to play along!
O's Birthday!
Wow! It is so hard to believe that 3 years ago, this little boy changed our lives forever! I went from dreams of being a career woman to being a Stay-at-Home Mama in the matter of no time...
So Friday was just a simple day of being home... Then Saturday we went to the store to pick up the fixings for his "Cake and Ice cream"... So we grabbed watermelon, grapes, kiwi and pineapple to make something similar to what I saw on this blog... Needless to say mine was not as pretty

So I will try something more like this one

He seemed to enjoy it anyway and that is the important thing...
All went well with the get together and O enjoyed his family and presents...
This week has been busy in a non-busy way, don't ask... so today is a day where I will try to catch up some laundry and cleaning out the office and foyer and get some more crochet done... Supper is in the crockpot, will post about it tomorrow when I can take a picture (this is something I will try to do from now on, but no promises hehe)
Now off I go to get some things blocked (and photographed), cleaned and crocheted...
Have a blessed day everyone!

Whew, the weekend is over...
Wow, what a weekend... Lots of fun at the MidWest GeoBash (for those that don't know it is an event for Geocaching)... We left Thursday early evening, got there around 8pm or so and stayed until Sunday morning... When we left Sunday late morning we headed out to do lots more caching and didn't get home until after 1am! But it was fun... Glad to be home again (and not camping hehe) but boy has O been an issue today... I am so emotionally exhausted from him right now... So I am headed to my Bible where I will look for passages to remind me that this too shall pass... (since I am still having problems with Bible Verse Memorization, I wouldn't mind a few pointers but I do have a few places that I like to look first so I'm not clueless yet hehe)
I know that I am going to start with Proverbs 3:5-6~ "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
I will then go to these and see where I am lead after that...
1 Peter 5:7~ "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
Psalm 130:7~ "Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption."
Anyway, as for supper, I had to wait for eggs so it is very late tonight (quiche, that apparently I am making wrong so it takes over 1.5 hours to cook the way I have been doing it- need to look into this)... I think it is about ready and I am hungry (and it smells so good) so I am off to eat!
Have a great night and May God keep you safe!

Another Culinary Success
Woohoo! Thanks to this recipe from A year of Slow cooking I had another success with supper last night... again, I had to alter it but that is what happens when I am picky and don't have everything needed... So here is what I did:
Crockpot Salsa & Chicken
Chicken Breasts (although apparently thighs will yield a juicier outcome)
1.5-2cups Salsa
1/2 bag frozen corn
Dump them into crockpot and cook on low for about 4 hours (if chicken is thawed)... Serve over rice
We liked it, except the chicken did get dried out because I didn't have enough salsa and it cooked longer than 4 hours... Will definitely try this with more salsa and a little less time as well as putting some salsa under the chicken as well as on top of it...

Thoughts on Aurora, CO
My post Friday late morning from other blog on the Aurora, Colorado event
I am saddened today... I wonder what the world is coming to in these dark times... I know many people will ask "How can God let this happen?" and the only thing I can say (from my tiny knowledge of anything) is that God didn't let it happen, He gave everyone free-will and that is something that He will not take from us... Yes it is sad and tragic, but God is not the one to blame... So here are my quick thoughts... Pray for the victims and their families-that the injured recovery quickly and that the ones we lost be grieved and remembered... Also pray for the shooter- that he will see what he did was wrong and seek God to turn his poor lost soul around...
I will be praying all day today, for those involved, for those now too scared to leave their homes, and for any other lost soul that needs to seek God in his life... I hope many of you will join me in prayer!
Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?"
Proverbs3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will direct your paths."
