Our First Day of School

So today, we started our preschool year when the area schools started... It seemed to go very well... I bought a preschool kit for O for Christmas, plus I have other material to use as supplement... I'm also making a calendar that will portray which 180 days we will have lessons, what I plan to work on with him, and what we accomplish... This should also work as a way to help Greg know where we are in his lessons, which means that he can help out on the days that I can't work with O... So here's to attempting to home school... Wish us luck, pray for us and cheer us on :-)

So are you wondering how the first day went? I think it went rather well... We used the "magna-doodle" and transparencies to practice facing shapes/forms that will come in handy when he learns to print... He can do vertical and angled straight lines fairly well, circles/ovals decently (not necessarily doing the one that he says he'll do), curves like C's and backward C's easily become circles when not tracing and hills and valleys (like n's and u's) also weren't as easy if he wasn't tracing... Considering I've always just let him draw with no direction, I think it was an excellent start!

Now I need to get the office recleaned so I have a good homeschool room...

Funny face I love you!

Went out caching on the trail and found these glasses in one... O says "do you like them?!"

Our fun "pinking" (painting)

O wanted 2 "pink" Mickey Mouse (aka paint Minnie Mouse)...

and when he was done with Minnie, he "pinked" Lightning McQueen!

So I decided 2 work on an Eagle paint-by-number... This is how far I got when I worked 20 minutes longer than O

On our walk/ caching adventure

It was such a beautiful day today, so Aunt and I took O out on the bike trail to blow off some cabin fever steam (and of course get some caches on the way)... This nice little rest took our fancy, and O just loved the stone :) Wish I could have gotten the picture that Aunt got of O sitting on the bench! (I'll try to get it from her later)

Awwwww...

My sleeping boys! Lol

Big ouch!

My poor baby fell HARD on the arm of the sofa (not well padded) & he wasn't playing around... Went 2 take pic & he poked it as the camera took it lol... 2nd pic is w/out finger

O's tower of play-doh

O stacked his play-doh, but what u didn't see was he put all the big ones except 1 on bottom, put a small one next, then when he grabbed the big one instantly knew he needed 2 switch them! He was telling me I made that when I took pic but of course as soon as pic was taken he knocked them down with typical boy fashion!

The Larry-boy theme song came on at the end of the Veggie Tales video, so he went and got his guitar to play along!

O's Birthday!

Wow! It is so hard to believe that 3 years ago, this little boy changed our lives forever! I went from dreams of being a career woman to being a Stay-at-Home Mama in the matter of no time...
So Friday was just a simple day of being home... Then Saturday we went to the store to pick up the fixings for his "Cake and Ice cream"... So we grabbed watermelon, grapes, kiwi and pineapple to make something similar to what I saw on this blog... Needless to say mine was not as pretty

So I will try something more like this one

He seemed to enjoy it anyway and that is the important thing...
All went well with the get together and O enjoyed his family and presents...

This week has been busy in a non-busy way, don't ask... so today is a day where I will try to catch up some laundry and cleaning out the office and foyer and get some more crochet done... Supper is in the crockpot, will post about it tomorrow when I can take a picture (this is something I will try to do from now on, but no promises hehe)
Now off I go to get some things blocked (and photographed), cleaned and crocheted...
Have a blessed day everyone!

Whew, the weekend is over...

Wow, what a weekend... Lots of fun at the MidWest GeoBash (for those that don't know it is an event for Geocaching)... We left Thursday early evening, got there around 8pm or so and stayed until Sunday morning... When we left Sunday late morning we headed out to do lots more caching and didn't get home until after 1am! But it was fun... Glad to be home again (and not camping hehe) but boy has O been an issue today... I am so emotionally exhausted from him right now... So I am headed to my Bible where I will look for passages to remind me that this too shall pass... (since I am still having problems with Bible Verse Memorization, I wouldn't mind a few pointers but I do have a few places that I like to look first so I'm not clueless yet hehe)
I know that I am going to start with Proverbs 3:5-6~ "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
I will then go to these and see where I am lead after that...
1 Peter 5:7~ "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
Psalm 130:7~ "Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption."

Anyway, as for supper, I had to wait for eggs so it is very late tonight (quiche, that apparently I am making wrong so it takes over 1.5 hours to cook the way I have been doing it- need to look into this)... I think it is about ready and I am hungry (and it smells so good) so I am off to eat!
Have a great night and May God keep you safe!
